Red headed islander Ceit Galbreath and Irish “incomer” Darragh Martin, are childhood friends, and grown-up lovers, but this is also a story about people like me who were very young in the sixties, and who grew up with all that decade’s optimism and confidence. Darragh is primarily a love story, a lyrical tale of misunderstandings and separations and personal tragedies, but it is also a novel about the way you sometimes find yourself looking back and realising that life was what was happened while you were busy planning for the future.
