DJANGO REINHARDT

The year was 1910 and it was winter, an ice cold January night. The baby who was to grow up to be the legendary Django Reinhardt, was born in a gypsy caravan, in a village called Liverchies, near Charleroi, in Belgium. Later, he was to be described as "the genius of the guitar" :- an exceptionally gifted musician by any standards, whether composing or playing. So many people, even now, almost fifty years after his death, and whether they know much about his music or not, still know the name of Django Reinhardt.
